Instagram Story, please make it easy for me. 🙏

Before I start requesting new features, I would like give to the people over at Instagram a big round of applause. You guys are doing a wonderful job, people all over the world are completely hooked on the app (I guess this is okay?). 🤔.

Now I can start with my feature request. So my user flow goes something like this. First I post my Instagram story, then like every other Instagram diva, I go to "Instagram Story Insight" to view and check how many people saw my story and, of course, more importantly, who saw my story. So the first time I do this, I don't have a problem because I can clearly see everyone who saw my story and to me, everyone is a first time story viewer. But the problem comes every other time I open "Instagram Story Insight" and it makes it really hard for me to recognize all the new people who came to see the story.

I do realize that you have an algorithm where you show the most relevant people first and that's great, I like that, so don't worry, I have a quick solution which is made with a component that is already in the app.

So currently, "Instagram Story Insight" looks like this, it doesn't matter if I open it the first time or the fifth time..

I came to an idea, that I can just take a component from the direct message section, where a new message has a blue dot. See below.

And with my small adjustment, "Instagram Story Insight," where I can easily see every new viewer, could look like this.

As always, there are probably some limitations that I haven't thought of, and people at Instagram have an answer as to why this can't work, but If not, please ux-ers on Instagram, make it easy for me and the other 77.6 million people that are using the app.

What do you think, does this even matter to the rest of the users? Do I belong to the small percentage of people who want these feature? I guess if you are Kylie Jenner, you don't really care about this or even if you have thousands of views, you stop caring who looks at your stories.
